Pediatric Institute for Research in Equity, Advocacy and Community Health

Our care for the children in our community drives our research, shapes our practice and informs policy to achieve optimal child health.

Mission

Our mission is to facilitate optimal physical, emotional and social health outcomes for all children and youth in our community. We use an evidence to action model where our research and advocacy drives meaningful change.

About Us

We are a solutions-focused pediatric research institute with the goal of improving the health and well-being of children and youth in our community.

Our work is guided by a strategic plan which involves conducting high-impact research, increasing our capacity to create meaningful change, maintaining strong relationships with our community partners and fostering an inclusive, equitable working environment.

Our research priorities are responsive to community needs and relevant to child health policy outcomes. Collaboration with diverse practitioners, community stakeholders and policymakers is imperative throughout our research process because we cannot achieve improved child and adolescent health outcomes by ourselves.

Since research articles alone are unlikely to produce change, we are committed to translating our work into digestible information for a broad array of audiences
